The One-Way Webb Will Play in the World Cup
Rhys Webb has discussed the only way he will feature for Wales at the World Cup

Welsh scrum-half Rhys Webb has conceded that he will not play any part in the World Cup unless there is an injury crisis in the half-backs position.
Webb moved to French side Toulon last year and only has 33 caps for his country meaning that he falls well short of the 60-cap quota required for players that are based overseas.
However, Webb is aware that the rule my become relaxed in the unlikely situation that there is an injury crisis in a position meaning there is still a glimmer of hope for the former Ospreys man.
“As far as I’m concerned I’m out of bounds with the 60-cap rule. I do believe that if there are injuries then I can come in without issue, but there has to be injuries. That’s the ruling. Maybe it will happen one day but for now it’s a no-go. Every time I play for Toulon, I don’t think about playing for Wales,” he said.
Webb is back on UK shores this weekend to face England with the Barbarians and admits that the chance to possibly represent his country does give him an extra edge at times, he will not seek to out-play others on Sunday to gain a place with Wales.
“The rule is in place and it motivates me to work harder and keep doing extras. I know my standard, I know where I belong as a player. I’ll maintain high standards wherever I am. You want to play in front of big stadia, big crowds. In every training session and every game I try to enjoy myself and play with a smile on my face. I back my instincts and I work hard. Yes, it’s a big game but I won’t do anything individual. There are too many world-class players here,” he added.
The 30-year-old knows that there is only a single route to get on the plane for Japan and realistically that door won’t open up bar a miracle meaning looking ahead to a more successful season with Toulon would probably be most useful.

All Black Legend Heading Off to France
Reports are claiming that a New Zealand star is close to joining a French side Toulon

Ma’a Nonu is set to re-sign for Toulon for the 2019/20 season according to reports in France.
The All Black returned to New Zealand Super Rugby franchise the Blues earlier this year after four years in France in a supposed bid to creep into the New Zealand World Cup squad.
Nonu has been in fine form since his return scoring three tries in 13 appearances, however All Black head coach Steve Hansen has not named the centre in his initial 41-man World Cup squad.
It is thought that the French giants are hoping that Nonu will come in as cover for Mathieu Bastareaud, who is heading to America for a season in US Major League Rugby.
Club president Mourad Boudjellal has already signed a number of high-profile names ahead of next season but refused to comment on Nonu.
“Recruitment is not over. We will hold a press conference around June 15. We are talking with important players. Things are moving forward,” he said.
When asked specifically about Nonu he added fuel to the speculation fire.
“All in [good] time!” he added.
The New Zealand legend played 77 times for Toulon during his 2015 move but was a beaten Top 14 finalist on two occasions and like another crack at winning the league along with the improved financial contract the French club would offer.
If he does re-join, he will have the likes of Masivesi Dakuwaka, Eben Etzebeth, Nehe Milner-Skudder and Baptiste Serin in a new-look super squad.

Ex-Wallaby Still in World Cup Contention
One former Wallaby still has hope of lining out for Australia during the World Cup this year

Saracens lock Will Skelton may still feature for the Wallabies at this years Rugby World Cup in Japan.
The massive 119kg second-row has just signed a new two-year deal to remain at the London side and is at this moment ineligible to play for his country as he only has 18 caps to his name.
Due to that he cannot play abroad and for the country as he does not have the minimum of 60 caps required but there is still hope.
The 27-year-old could play for the green and gold if he signs a contract with a Super Rugby franchise for when his Saracens deal runs out meaning his future commitments would be in Australia and making him eligible for his country.
Saracens head coach Mark McCall has admitted that Skelton has a desire to feature at the World Cup and although he would love the lock to remain at the club, he wants what’s best for the player.
“Will has spoken to me about it. He is keen to play in the World Cup, but he is also keen to play for Saracens, which is quite complex. There hasn’t been much contact from Australia, but I think there will be and we want our players to play in the World Cup. For that to happen he probably has to sign longer term there, which is not what we want but if that is what Will decides, that is what he decides,” he said.
Only recently Exeter scrum-half Nic White had the same problem as Skelton, however he signed for an Australian Super Rugby side allowing him the chance to compete for a place on the plane for Japan.
Skelton has been in incredible form this season since shedding over three-stone in weight and has forced McCall to shift star lock Maro Itoje to the back-row to accommodate both players.
The English lock is happy that his teammate is in such fine form but admits if he does play in the World Cup, he will receive the same treatment as any other opponent.
“He is in great form, he is truly in great form. But if he is playing for the Wallabies, unfortunately he will have to get chopped down like the rest of them,” Itoje said.
For now, Skelton is at Saracens for the foreseeable future but with the form he’s in at the moment Australia will want him in Japan and what Super Rugby side wouldn’t want him in their squad.

Wallabies Release Rugby World Cup Jersey
Australia have unveiled their jersey for the World Cup and it’s pretty nice

The Wallabies have released their new jersey for the Rugby World Cup in Japan and there are some differences to recent designs.
To start the Wallabies logo has shifted from the chest to the left sleeve as it did in the 2015 World Cup, and in its place is the Australian rugby coat of arms.
Along with this it is considerably greener around the neck area but as always, the remainder of the shirt is gold.
Aussie fly-half Bernard Foley was one of the players to promote the new jersey and is delighted with the shirt Asics have produced.
“I think it looks great. A jersey is something that can really ignite the team and unite a nation and we’re really proud to unveil it today and now once this is out there it’s the real start of the preparation. We can’t wait for the World Cup and we know there is a lot of hard work to happen between now and then but it’s great we can now show this off to our country and supporters. Asics have been working tirelessly to find those extra one per centers. We’ve been working on this for three or four years now to get it right and I think they’ve done a great job,” he said.
Leading up to the announcement the Wallabies had been posting on social media to ask their fans what their favourite Australian World Cup jersey was, with the 2003 strip coming out on top. However, the 2019 jersey could put up a challenge when they ask in the future.
There was even better news for Wallabies fans when they went online to check out the jersey as they spotted a sneak peak of the Indigenous jersey that was revealed by Michael Cheika last month.
The jersey wasn’t shown during the launch on Wednesday, but the men’s away jersey looks as though it could be an instant hit among fans and players alike.
The mostly green shirt will be worn for their pool game against Uruguay on October 5th and in a potential semi-final, while the traditional golden jersey will be worn for all other fixtures.
At this moment in time it is uncertain whether the team will wear the new jerseys before the World Cup including in the Rugby Championship, but most would be happy to see as much of the slick new shirts as possible.
