Ahead of Friday’s opening round of the 2022/23 BKT URC season away to Benetton, Head Coach Franco Smith has issued the following squad update.

Winger Logan Trotter and fly-half Joel Hodgson have both departed the club for new opportunities. The club would like to thank both players for their hard work during their time at the club.

Prop Lucio Sordoni, scrum-half Cameron Jones and fly-half Will Hunt all continue to train with the squad.

Scrum-half Jamie Dobie will link back up with Glasgow Warriors later this week after a successful loan spell with National Provincial Championship side Bay of Plenty.

The club can also provide an injury update ahead of the second block of pre-season:

Gregor Brown has re-joined the training group after successfully recovering from his groin injury.

Jamie Dobie will undergo assessment later this week of a hamstring injury sustained while with Bay of Plenty and is expected to be out for the coming weeks.

Allan Dell has sustained a calf injury and is expected to return at the end of the first block of games. The prop is also currently recovering from a period of sickness.

Ollie Smith (back) and Ross Thompson (back) are both expected to return to training in the coming weeks.

Huw Jones (back), Ally Miller (back) and Enrique Pieretto (shoulder) all continue their rehabilitation process from their respective injuries
