Sale Sharks flanker Ben Curry will be at the Rugby World Cup final to see his twin Tom line-out for England against the Springboks in Japan on Saturday.
The 21-year-old has been part of the Sale team during the opening weeks of the Premiership season, however, when England made it through to the final it sparked a social media campaign #GetBenToJapan, by fans in order to allow him to see his brother in the showpiece.
Sharks are set to take on the Bristol Bears on Friday at Ashton Gate, with Curry set to play, but, director of rugby at the club Steve Diamond has allowed the forward to make his way to Japan.
Ben has thanked everyone involved in the campaign on Twitter.
“Thank you to all the Sale fans who have been doing their part on social media! Rugby is more than a sport,” he said in the Tweet.
Ben and Tom both play for the Sharks along with fellow England international Mark Wilson, who is also in the 31-man squad for the competition. In their absence the likes of Jono Ross, Dan and Jean-Luc du Preez will have to step up against the Bears.
It will be a huge mental boost for Tom to have support in the stands as he looks to continue his incredible form that he has shown in the tournament so far, which has seen him become one of the key men of the England team.
England head into the final as favourites having defeated all three of the other Rugby Championship teams on their way, including back to back reigning champions New Zealand in the semi-final. If they are to go on to win they will need another massive performance from Curry as they line-up against one of the biggest forward packs in rugby.
