Leicester Tigers have agreed a new deal with Dan Cole.

The prop has made 304 appearances for the club since his debut in October 2007.

A four-time Premiership winner with the club, Cole has played more than 400 professional rugby games – including 95 Test appearances for England and toured twice with the British & Irish Lions.

He played junior rugby at South Leicester and progressed to the Tigers Academy, as well as gaining experience on loan at Bedford, before making his Leicester debut away to Bath in October 2007.

Cole has since featured on 304 occasions for the senior team, as well as sharing in A-League success and Anglo-Welsh Cup winning campaigns.

The front-rower was recently recalled to the national squad ahead of the 2023 Six Nations.

Speaking about the renewal, Leicester Tigers Head Coach Richard Wigglesworth said: “Dan is the lifeblood of Leicester Tigers. He’s the cornerstone of the scrum and cornerstone of the club.”

“Dan knows what it is to be a Leicester Tigers player and knows what it takes to be one at the top of your game for a long time.

“It is fantastic that he is committed to continuing on at the club and showing form that suggests he is far from done in the game, which is fantastic.

“I was incredibly pleased to see his work for Tigers get the recognition it deserved with an international call-up recently and know how proud all of his teammates were to see him back.

“Dan is a leader at the club, on and off the field, and vital to what we are doing and vital in helping shape the next generation of players at this club.”

Discussing the new deal, Cole said: “I am pleased to be able to continue to contribute and be a part of this club, part of this group.

“It’s a great group of players, coaches and staff – all on the same page – who are working hard together to be successful.

“I am proud every chance I get to play for Leicester Tigers and want to continue to do that. This is my home club, my team and I am pleased to renew that time for a while longer.”
