Argentina have made few changes to their team to face the Springboks in the final round of this year’s shortened Rugby Championship on Saturday.
Pumas captain Agustin Creevy has returned from injury to take his place at hooker with Julian Montoya going back to the bench.
There is a completely different second-row with regulars Guido Petti and Tomas Lavanini being replaced by Matias Alemanno and Marcos Kremer.
Lavanini drops out of the squad while Petti takes a place on the bench. Although both Alemanno and Kremer have played second fiddle on the international stage they have over 70 caps for the Pumas between the pair.
The only other change in the pack is that Tomas Lezana moves to the replacements with Javier Ortega Desio coming into the starting XV.
Despite the movement up front there is only a single change in the backs as Emiliano Boffelli takes the 15 jersey from Joaquin Tuculet, who in turn goes to the bench.
There is a chance for Castres star Benjamin Urdapilleta and Gonzalo Bertranou to make their first appearances of the international season if they come off the bench.
Argentina are hoping to avoid finishing bottom of the Rugby Championship table when they host the Springboks who are also seeking to win the tournament itself. However, even a win for the Pumas may not be enough to avoid the wooden spoon as a win for Australia over the All Blacks would take it out of Argentina’s hands before they even play South Africa.
