Ronan O’Gara has been subject to many rumours over a move away from the Crusaders in recent weeks and now there’s another.
O’Gara who was linked with a role with the French national team during the closing stages of the Six Nations, but now it has been reported that Montpellier are interested in the former Ireland No 10.
“Contacts have been formed between “ROG” and the club chaired by Mohed Altrad, who has been working for several weeks on changes in the staff of Vern Cotter,” according to RMC Sport.
It was also mentioned before that a return
to former side Racing 92 might be on the cards when his current contract with the
New Zealand side runs out.
However, while talking to Radio Sport NZ O’Gara
revealed he is only focused on helping his current team.
“There was one or two approaches from an agent, that’s as far we’ve got. As anyone knows I have an amount of work to do here, which is really important to me, and if there is anything Razor [Robertson] and the Crusaders would be the first to know about it,” he said.
Current Crusaders head coach Scott Robertson
has been touted as a contender for the New Zealand job when Steve Hansen steps
aside and the Irishman confirmed he would have his eyes on joining Robertson
should he become involved with the All Blacks.
“Exactly, exactly,” he said when asked about the possibility of an All Blacks position.
It is only April and there have been so
many reports about where O’Gara could be come the end of July, but one thing is
for sure, he won’t be short of offers.
