Ulster Rugby have named their team for their final Champions Cup Pool game against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road and it’s not only good news for Ulster but for Ireland too.

Iain Henderson has been named to start in the 2nd row alongside Kieran Treadwell. Henderson was reported to be out for 3 months and not expected to return to play until at least Round 4 of the 6 Nations however it seems the British & Irish Lion has recovered a lot faster than expected and is back in the selection mix.

The good news continues as it appears that John Cooney has also overcome his back injury issues and is named amongst the Ulster replacements.

This will be a welcome return for Joe Schmidt who a week ago looked like he had an injury crisis on his hands at scrum-half with Marmion & McGrath both out and Cooney looking ‘dodgy’. He called up Connacht 9, Blade to the 6 Nations squad but will most likely look to Cooney to provide back up to Murray.

Ulster will be looking for points on the road this weekend or a Racing 92 slip up to guarantee themselves a spot in the Quarter Finals and having both Henderson and Cooney back in the squad is a huge boost for the Irish Province.
