In recent years a good old ‘boot toss’ has been a common sight. A rogue pair of adidas Kakari’s lying lonely on the turf and next minute some poor punter in the crowd has caught a pair of 21mm in the face.

If the launched boot happens to be owned by someone from your team, you think it’s dirty play. If your team projects the boot come missile, it’s ‘totally fine’ and if you’re a neutral, it’s usually hilarious.

Ireland’s Peter O’Mahony who’d I’d be confident has thrown a few boots in his time bucked the trend on the weekend. The Back row lost his boot, tried to for about 0.3 seconds to put his adidas Predator back on, saw the ball come back on the Irish side and casually tossed it to the side of the pitch.

No boot. No Problem.

No boot?
No problem!

O’Mahony went on to collect the Man Of The Match award against Scotland. In the absence of CJ Stander, O’Mahony stepped up his carrying game carrying the ball on 13 occasions.

He looked absolutely …. delighted.

O’Mahony was also involved in another incident which caused a lot of debate over the weekend. That tackle that forced Stuart Hogg out of the match.
