The final day of this year’s Six Nations campaign appears set to be postponed due to fears of spreading the coronavirus according to reports in France.

France are set to host Ireland, while Wales take on Scotland this Saturday, but French outlet Midi Olympique are claiming that both will be pushed back until late October due to the coronavirus.

Yesterday, French president Emmanual Macron announced a ban in France of gatherings consisting of over 1000 people in a bid to prevent the spreading of the virus and French Rugby are to meet with the government later today to make a final decision on the match.

There is already one game less on the final day following the postponement of Italy’s clash with England as the Italian government have confirmed that all sporting events will be played behind closed doors until at least April 3rd.

Before that Ireland’s game with the Azzurri was put on hold, meaning a backlog of fixtures is starting to pile-up.

Following the weekend’s results the championship is wide open with England, France and Ireland all in a position to claim the title, but that now appears likely to be decided later this year.
