Glasgow Warriors have unveiled a new club badge that has started a “new era” for the side.
Yesterday, Glasgow published a short video on their Twitter and Instagram accounts which featured the side’s various logos throughout their history.
However, today the side have revealed their new badge that will replace their recent badge for the 2019/20 season.
The old badge has been used since 2005 and the new one is a more animated version of the warrior of Glasgow.
Some had wondered whether the video yesterday was hinting at a full re-brand like when the club were known as the Glasgow Caledonians during the early 2000’s, but this has cleared things up.
Glasgow have become a dominant force in the PRO 14 and just missed out on the title when they narrowly lost to Leinster in the final. However, overall the season was seen as a success having reached that final and the knock-out stages of the Champions Cup.
This new badge has started a “new era” but some fans think that the re-brand is not needed and has only been done for financial and commercial reasons.
Either way, the club will march on with a new badge and who knows if there is more re-branding to be done before the start of next season.
