Taulupe Faletau has been called into Wales’ Six Nations squad for Saturday’s game against England at Twickenham after a successful return from injury.

The powerful running , Bath, Welsh & British & Irish Lions back-rower played a full 80 minutes on Saturday in his second game back for Bath after seven months out injured with an ankle injury.

Wales got their campaign back on track with a victory over Scotland after a heavy defeat and poor performance against Ireland in Round 1. They visit England at Twickenham this weekend and will be boosted by Faletau’s return.

Faletau made a try-scoring return against Wasps on 12 February, getting through 60 minutes and completed 80 minutes in Bath’s loss to Leicester on the weekend.

“I feel I needed a couple of games, and I’ve had that”

“It was a rolling two weeks for a long time, then I would get to the end of that two weeks, I would run again and it would ping again. It was basically that for the whole time.

“I am just enjoying getting out there, whether it’s Bath or Wales. Whatever it is, I just want to enjoy the games because seven months out wasn’t fun.”

Faletau’s return will be a massive boost to Wayne Pivac who is still without Alun Wyn Jones, George North, Ken Owens and Justin Tipuric.

Betway recently interviewed Welsh star Shane Williams, discussing the unique challenges of the Six Nations and his two Grand Slam wins.

“It’s extremely hard to win the Grand Slam,” says Williams. “As people who watch the Six Nations know well, it’s such a short turnaround, it’s only five games, you’re only playing five different teams. Surely it’s not difficult to win every game? I can assure you it is.”

Bath coach Neal Hatley has no doubt he is ready to return to the international stage.

“He is like a chameleon,” he said. “You put him in a level up and he just blends in.

“He has that innate ability that, whatever the quality of the players he is playing with, he is the best player on the pitch and he has done that for ages.”

Bath recently announced that Faletau will be departing at the end of the season with Cardiff recently confirming the signing of Faletau from Bath.

Faletau comes into the squad at the expense of Christ Tshiunza in the Wales squad with the Exeter star being ruled out for the remainder of the tournament.
