Cardiff Rugby provide injury update – Huge Rugby News

Cardiff Rugby can today provide a full injury update ahead of Friday’s BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Emirates Lions.

Corey Domachowski, Kirby Myhill, Rey Lee-Lo and Theo Cabango all return to the Blue and Blacks match-day 23 after recovering from injury, while Taulupe Faletau also pulls on the number eight jersey after being rested last week.

Returning:

Will Davies-King continues his return to action with Cardiff RFC following a serious bicep and pectoral injury. As the tight-head builds form and confidence he will come into first team contention.

Ellis Jenkins is back in full training and is building fitness having missed a significant portion of pre-season.

Jason Harries has progressed through his return to play protocols and is a travelling reserve on Friday.

Short term:

Rhys Carré misses out due to a dead leg but should return to contention next week.

Kristian Dacey is unavailable due to illness.

Thomas Young has been ruled out due to a neck spasm.

Olly Robinson is continuing through return to play protocols.

Josh Adams suffered an abductor strain during last weekend’s defeat to Glasgow and is unavailable

Matthew Morgan has picked up a MCL knee injury and will return to fitness next month.

Medium to long-term:

Liam Williams has undergone shoulder surgery and will be out of action for 12 to 16 weeks.

Owen Lane has suffered an ankle injury and will be unavailable for up to 10 weeks.

Jacob Beetham requires ACL surgery, with a recovery time of nine to 12 months.

Ben Thomas remains on course for a return to action in November following shoulder surgery.

Josh Navidi continues to make progress following two injections to combat a neck injury. He will see a specialist again next week.
