Former Reds and Wallabies back-rower Caleb Timu has called time on his career at the age of 27.
Timu signed with the Reds in 2016 from the Brisbane Broncos, going on to play 21 games for the club in his three-year stint.
He would go on to have a breakout 2017 campaign, winning NRC Player of the Tournament with Queensland Country.
The following year, he was rewarded with a maiden Wallabies cap, picked for the first two Tests against Ireland.
He would then opt to head overseas with French club Montpellier, where he would finish his career.
“Didn’t think this day would come so soon but I’ve decided to retire from rugby. Just felt it was the right time for me,” he said in a statement via social media.
“Blessed to have gotten to live out my childhood dreams and play rugby professionally, play for my country, travel the world and provide for my family.
“A lot of people have helped me a long the way which I’m grateful for, especially my family, my mum and dad and my wife!
“I’m super grateful for all rugby has given me & I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.”
