The Ospreys have confirmed that former scrum-half Rhys Webb will make a return to the club from Toulon at the end of the current season.
Webb, who has signed a two-year contract, already has a decade of experience at the club under his belt and has admitted he is delighted to be back where his rugby journey began.
“It’s just great to come back where rugby all started for me. I’m really looking forward to the challenge and fighting for the Ospreys jersey again. I have loved my time in Toulon but it’s a relief to come home to the Ospreys. It’s where my family are, where I was brought up, and where rugby all started for me. To return to play for my home region again is just really special for me and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to do that again,” he said to ospreysrugby.com.
Having left for France in 2017, Webb has been out of contention for Wales, but he could now return to the fold and become part of new head coach Wayne Pivac’s plans.
It is a massive boost for both the Ospreys, who have been struggling to date this season, and for Wales, as he brings an incredible amount of experience and talent to both sides.
