Freddie Clarke can’t wait to be back at Kingsholm for his first game at home since singing a contract extension with Gloucester Rugby.
The second-row’s extension was announced two weeks ago at an open training session at Kingsholm and celebrated in style with an away derby win over Bath at the Rec last week.
Clarke said; “It feels like a real long time since we were back at Kingsholm on the opening day of the season.
“I got a nice little glimpse when it was announced and looking at the bigger picture it was a no brainer to stay here at Gloucester, I can’t wait for this weekend.”
The Gloucester academy graduate was pleased with his teams resolve as they held on for a narrow derby victory last time out.
“It was positive we got the win, the first-half we performed well.
“In the second-half we invited pressure on to ourselves, we couldn’t get our set piece going and we didn’t get through many phases in attack but we held on with a great six minutes of defence so we were really pleased to get the win.”
Clarke is expecting another evenly matched game this weekend.
“After their last two games Bristol will be looking for a big performance. They have a lot of threats in the forwards and a lot of attacking threat in the backs too so it will be a great game.”
