England U20’s international prop Archie McArthur joins Gloucester Rugby from Wasps.
McArthur joined Wasps academy through their partnership with City of Oxford College, where he studied.
He represented England at U18 level before progressing to the U20’s in February, making his debut from the bench against Wales in Doncaster.
McArthur made his England U20 debut in a team featuring Gloucester Rugby’s Matty Jones and new arrival, Finn Theobald-Thomas.
The loose-head will benefit from being around the experienced Gloucester Rugby front-row players such as Val Rapava-Ruskin, Jamal Ford-Robinson and Fraser Balmain.
McArthur will pull on the Cherry & White jersey for the first time tomorrow evening when he plays for Gloucester United against the UK Armed Forces at Kingsholm.
Gloucester Rugby’s Director of Academy & Development, Carl Hogg, is delighted to bring McArthur to Kingsholm.
“Archie is a very talented young player and we are really happy he’s signed for Gloucester Rugby.
“During his time at Wasps and with England, he’s shown a lot of potential and we’re looking forward to see him take the next steps of his career here at Kingsholm.”
