Munster have released a squad update ahead of the visit of Racing 92 to Thomond Park on Saturday in the Champions Cup.

There is some big news on the injury front with both JJ Hanrahan and Rhys Marshall both being brought back into training this week after missing last weekend’s win over the Ospreys in their opening round of this season’s competition.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed yesterday that the game would be scrum-half Alby Mathewson’s final one for the province as his stint with the club comes to an end after over a year in Ireland.

A short-term signing, that turned into a 15-month stay.

The squad trained today in preparation for the match but were without some key men as Chris Cloete, Dave Kilcoyne, Darren Sweetnam and Ciaran Parker continue their comebacks from injury.

While there is still no update on when Joey Carbery will return to action from his ongoing ankle injury.

Having made a winning start to their European campaign, Munster will hope to put some more points on the board when they host Racing this weekend and help them get out of a pool which also contains reigning champions Saracens.
