Leinster head coach Leo Cullen has announced a strong squad for his team’s Champions Cup game with Lyon at the RDS this Sunday at 13 00.

In what is an experienced line-up, Scott Fardy is named as captain, while the likes of Dave Kearney, Cian Healy and Devin Toner among those in the starting line-up.

In the front-row Healy is joined by James Tracy and Tadhg Furlong, while Toner and Fardy join-up in the second-row with the front-five having a combined total of over 700 caps for the province between them.

In the back-row, last weekend’s man of the match Rhys Ruddock is in at blindside-flanker, while Josh van der Flier comes in on the openside and Max Deegan remains at No 8 following his incredible form so far this season.

Luke McGrath and Ross Byrne link-up in the half-back pairing, while Henshaw is joined in the centre by Garry Ringrose, who has scored eight tries in five games so far this season.

James Lowe takes his place on the left-wing, with Kearney on the right and Jordan Larmour completes the starting XV from full-back.

On the bench there is even more experience to call upon for Cullen with the likes of Sean Cronin, Ross Molony and Rob Kearney among the replacements.

Speaking ahead of the game full-back Larmour is expecting a tough game against the team currently sitting second in the Top 14.

“Lyon are a serious team. It’s a challenge we’re looking forward to. They’ve got serious threats out wide and up front,” he said.
